The Utah Mental Health Counselors Association values diversity, equity, and inclusion and this is at the forefront of the work we do. Counselors are not all the same and neither are our clients. We all come from differing backgrounds, beliefs, and identities which make us stronger together. Drawing upon inclusive open dialogue, diverse backgrounds, and experiences is the crux of how our profession is centered.
It is one thing to say it, but we put the practice into motion by the way we conduct ourselves and the trainings we promote. For example, if you want to register as a presenter for one of our conferences, one of the requirements for approval is how your presentation is inclusive and addresses diversity.
